We have known him for years, but do we know enough about him?

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10, ubiquinone) is present in every cell of the human body. It is a vitamin-like substance of key importance for the production of energy, growth and regeneration and for the current functioning of cells, tissues and the organism as a whole. Coenzyme Q10 is primarily a trigger for energy processes in the mitochondria of all cells that make up human organisms. Constant access to coenzyme is particularly critical for our hearts and brains, which if in deficiency of this substance, become seriously ill. In addition to participating in basic life processes, coenzyme Q10 is also one of the most effective antioxidants. When the body has no access to antioxidant vitamins (e.g. C or E), coenzyme Q10 goes into action and protects cells and tissues from free radicals. As an antioxidant, coenzyme Q10 has antineoplastic properties. It prevents the formation of cholesterol deposits in the arteries. The Q10's unique feature is its repair capabilities - not only does it counteract negative changes, but it also is able to level them down.

The body's self-defense system protects it from free radicals, neutralizes them and reduces them to the necessary minimum.  Unfortunately, with age, the system starts to weaken, and the impact of the polluted environment it is in, makes it less and less efficient. It frees radicals;  attack proteins, or protein in the cell membrane. The cell stops working properly, enzymes are destroyed, collagen and elastin are damaged. The consequences are obvious: the skin is ageing much earlier than predicted by biology. Thanks to its antioxidant properties, Coenzyme Q10 protects the body against free radical damage. It is even more effective than vitamin E: it neutralizes free radicals, preventing cell damage, thus forming the first line of defense.

Coenzyme Q10 is also called the elixir of youth. By providing the skin with the right dose of Q10 coenzyme you can prevent the ageing process. This compound chills the cells against hypoxia, stimulates their metabolism and regeneration, and is, as already mentioned, an antioxidant. Combined with vitamin E, coenzyme Q10 effectively detects cells from toxins and helps to remove them from the body. It prevents damage to cells, and is their first line of defense, reducing the level of oxidation after exposure to UVA rays.

The Q10 coenzyme application helps stimulate cellular respiration and, thus, facilitates cellular metabolism. Products containing it in its composition protect the skin from pollution by the environment and free radicals, increase the epidermal protective abilities, stimulate skin regeneration, reduce wrinkles, increase skin firmness, and act on it "rejuvenating". The preparations of this compound applied on the skin for several weeks causes the disappearance of fine wrinkles, increases the moisture and elasticity of the skin, brightens the discoloration, deep wrinkles, firming the neck and face muscles. Creams with this ingredient improve the skin's firmness, making it appear younger.

Combined with vitamins and algae, Coenzyme Q10 is an ideal ingredient in sensitive skin creams.
